OUR STORY:
With years of experience in the restaurant industry, owner and founder, Christos Paterimos, was determined to create a space that spoke a language driven by quality and value for money, all whilst keeping things simple. Later joined by business partner, Brandon Mateus, the two made it happen! Using their passion for good food and people, they brought Bird & Co to life, a clucking good concept of serving up chicken (generously topped with our secret, award-winning, homemade peri-peri sauce) and hearty wood-fired pizza’s all from one convenient hot spot.
Effective 1st August 2022 a controlling stake was acquired in the business by the Rose Trust, represented by Kevin Hedderwick and Brett Hedderwick. Both have extensive food service and franchising experience and will be invaluable as the Bird & Co brand positions itself for take-off with long-term sustainable growth.

the hen house
It all started with the main hen house – Bird & Co Ballito. And just like a baby bird launching from the nest and spreading its wings for the first time, we had lift-off! Good news sure does spread fast – and before we knew it, we had a whole flock of Bird & Co babies hatching all over the country. Yup, the people just couldn’t get enough of our succulent and tender chicken and clucking delicious pizza, and they kept chirping us to open more branches!

Not to be cocky (see what we did there :P), but our chicken is the best. No, seriously. Our deboned chicken was voted best peri-peri chicken in Durban! Proving that KZN has flocking good taste. Not that we give a cluck about awards and accolades, but we just thought you deserved to know the truth.
